Before practicing law in Cupertino, Lee Van Pelt earned a B.S. in Physics, summa cum laude, from the University of Missouri-Rolla, and earned a J.D., Order of the Coif, from the University of California-Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law.
has extensive experience with the preparation and prosecution of software, electronic, and mechanical patent applications; analyzing and managing patent portfolios; intellectual property licensing; and providing patent expertise for litigation.

Ms. Yi earned B.S. degrees in physics and mathematics from University of California, Irvine in 1990. She also received a J.D. from University of California-Hastings, College of the Law in 1993. She is a founding partner currently of counsel to the firm.

Mr. James received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering & History from the U.S. Naval Academy, where he graduated with distinction. After serving on active duty in the United States Navy from 1986-91, Mr. James attended Stanford Law School, where he received his J.D., Order of Coif, in 1994.

Prior to joining Van Pelt & Yi, Ms. Fu worked as an engineer at several Silicon Valley telecommunication and networking companies, including Spectrum Wireless, Skystream Networks, Microsoft (WebTV) and Nexsi Systems.

Ms. Fu received her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, with areas of concentration in digital signal processing and communication systems. She is currently pursuing a J.D. at University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

Prior to joining Van Pelt, Yi & James, Ms. Huang worked as an engineer on a fixed wireless system at AT&T Wireless and on several airborne and satellite communications systems at Boeing.

Ms. Huang earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Stanford University, where she was a National Science Foundation Fellow, with additional studies at the California Institute of Technology. Her primary focus was on communications and signal processing.

Ms. Huang is a registered patent agent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Prior to joining Van Pelt, Yi & James, Ms. Ing worked at a number of semiconductor and wireless companies in Silicon Valley and Seattle including LSI Logic and Nextcomm. Most recently she was at Marvell Semiconductor in the wireless group.

Ms. Ing has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University with a focus in digital signal processing and an M.S. from the University of Washington in Electrical Engineering with a focus in communications.

Mr. Park has experience working in the fields of computer architecture, simulations software, semiconductor technology, Internet technologies, surface science, software application development, user interface design, and circuit design.

Prior to joining Van Pelt, Yi & James, Mr. Park worked on research and development at Intel, Apple Computer, Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, and various other research labs at Stanford University.

Mr. Park received a B.S. with distinction in Computer Systems Engineering and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.

Ms. Pugalia earned a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma where her primary focus was on wireless communications and signal processing. Ms. Pugalia also holds dual M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Management Science & Engineering from Stanford University where her primary focus was on semiconductor devices.

Ms. Wagner received a B.S. in Computer Science, cum laude, from the University of New Mexico, and earned a J.D., Order of the Coif, from the University of New Mexico School of Law. She is currently pursuing an LL.M. in Intellectual Property at Santa Clara University.
, Ph.D. is a registered patent agent who specializes in preparing and prosecuting patent applications. Dr. Wong has an extensive background in technology including data storage, optics, measurement, signal processing, instrumentation, integrated circuits, systems, and software.

Prior to joining Van Pelt, Yi & James, Terry spent ten years as an executive of Calimetrics, a company he co-founded in 1994. Calimetrics developed optical disc (CD, DVD, and Blue) writing and reading technology that improved storage capacity without change to manufacturing infrastructure. In addition, Terry has served on the board of directors, on the executive committee of the board, and on three optical storage road-mapping committees for the International Storage Industry Consortium.

Dr. Wong is an inventor on 8 US patents. He has a Ph.D. in Biophysics from UC Berkeley, a M.S. in Applied Physics from Stanford University, and a B.S. in Physics and Applied Physics from Yale University. Also, Terry is a charter committee member of the IEEE Entrepreneurial Activities Committee.
